Ashington Children's Nursery is located to the north of the main London Road in Ashington Village. It has access from both sides of the A24 and also the B2133 Billingshurst Road. The nursery is located in the former Methodist Church with easy drop off parking. We identified a need in the village for the under 2’s full day-care and have been overwhelmed by the support of the village.

We are registered for 63 children, providing care for children aged 0 to 5 years in three rooms. The baby and toddler room have an adjoining door which is fantastic for siblings and also peer groups to mix and learn from each other as role models. Dedicated qualified staff are in each area with a Room Leader in each area to ensure our high standards are maintained, we have a key person allocated to each child's development and progress through the nursery.

All the children come together in each room for social lunchtime. After lunch the children will go for some quiet and or sleep time in their main areas, but we fit the routine around what happens at home for babies, so sleep routines are determined by when they would normally sleep during the day at home.

We have 3 main rooms’ 0-2years Twinkles, 2-3 years Shooting Stars and 3-5years Ashington All Stars. We have a school rediness programme for the pre school children which includes PE Lessions and formal sit down learning during the summer term.  The rising 3's join the pre school as this is a large space we are able to offer two learning groups in the same area joining for free flow play but in age appropriate groups for some adult led learning.

Outside all the children enjoy a large space to play and learn, including climbing and sliding, riding around on trikes and bikes, Hoola-hooping, gardening, digging and many other activities!

The nursery is part of a small group, each maintaining its uniqueness:  Lower Beeding receiving Ofsted Outstanding in 2015 and we are very proud of this achievement.  Our other nurseries in Shoreham, Lancing, Southwater and Hampshire are all awarded with a Good from Ofsted with areas of outstanding practice. We are hugely proud of the care and environment we provide for the children - please come and visit us and see for yourself!
